I'm now seven days off of sugar and really inspired by what dietary changes can do. Only seven days and I'm starting to get "that" feeling. I love that feeling! I wish I could explain it. I'm sure I don't need to. The old saying "you are what you eat" - Truer words were never spoken. In the past seven days I've been cooking like crazy. A lot of macro food. Taking the time to soak and roast grains with acv, or lemon or whey. Eating a lot of leafy greens. Starting the day with greens. Last night I made a macro dish of buckwheat noodles with a lemon asparagus sauce. It was good. Tonight we're having diakon scallion salad with kale and turkey.
Even with all the sugar I allowed myself to indulge in - I did an amazing thing that I'm so excited about. In a mere three months, I changed my thyroid levels so that even with Hashimoto's - I am able to stay off medication. There was a time I would not have believed that to be possible! I did it by treating the auto immune disease (I actually prefer the word disorder, but whatever) and not the thyroid itself. TSH, T3, T4, Thyroxine & Free Thyroxine. ALL improved. And all with absolutely no thyroid medication.
I did this:
Vitamin D. LOTS of it. 20,000 IU a day. 21,000 to be exact because I took it in fish oil that has 1,000 per spoonful.
Good quality cod liver oil. Preferably fermented - but I don't seem to be able to digest that just yet. I use Nordic Naturals Arctic D
Glutathione/SOD cream rubbed into the bottom of my feet 2x a day. That is some potent stuff!
HCI/Betaine Hydrochloric acid with food. I think this was especially important for me specifically.
Enzymes 20 mins before meals (when I managed to remember - that's a hard one) and also between meals. I was pretty slack about that - but I plan to step up and remember to do this.
Lacto fermented foods (saurkraut, kimchee, goat keifer) and some prepared probiotics as well.
I've been inspired lately to cook and eat well and those test results have only fueled the fire. I started adding more grain into our diet - but I'm on the fence with it. I'm pretty doubtful that brown rice is a health food at all. In fact, there is more and more evidence emerging to support that theory. Yet - I tend to feel better when I eat it. The rational part of me says if I feel better - then for me, it's a good thing. I've been learning about polished rice vs brown rice. There is always so much to learn.

I really like your blog! I did the Body Ecology Diet a few years ago and it was life changing.
